Vanguard is seeking a Border Sewer that can operate a border machine to walk borders around to fit cushions for fabric pieces for upholstering.
An experienced applicant:
Must be able to operate border machine to run borders thru.
Remove cover from bins and separate (unbundle) to prepare for sewing.
Joins pieces together according to sewing notes using double needle sewing machine.
Inspect fabric/material for any flaws and/or defects.
Selects thread according to colors of fabric.
Joins pieces together according to sewing notes using sewing machine.
Aligns pieces and any trimmings following seams, edges or markings on parts.
Walks borders around to fit cushion top.
Responsible for fixing their own repairs before starting on new piece.
Requirements:
Must be able to read ticket and job notes for directions.
Must be knowledgeable in sewing methods and be able to complete job to quality specifications.
Sew piece according to sewing notes.
Keep sewing notebook updated and in neat order.
English required for understanding of ticket, job notes and directions.
