Job Description:
Our Habilitation Technician supports and empowers our participants, physically assisting them and building their self-confidence.
Compassion, respect and a positive attitude are key in this position.
This staff member performs extensive physical support for our participants and must be comfortable working on their feet, supporting partial body weight (up to 50 lbs on occasion.
) They provide educational and work support, including demonstrating activities during art and exercise classes and on-the-job support as our participants work in our Contracts/warehouse area.
Habilitation Technicians are responsible for the following duties:
Developing and preparing daily lesson plans according to pre-established standards.
Re-directing or counseling participants when inappropriate behavior is displayed.
Working in conjunction with internal and external staff to ensure participant receives appropriate assistance.
Working with staff to develop participant evaluations and summaries and coaches participants as relates to their case plans.
Recording participant behavior and methods to alleviate barriers/ progress to goals.
Preparing case notes and reports.
VALID NC Driver License REQUIRED (Will transport participants occasionally in vehicle).
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
Must have current certification in CPR, First Aid and Personal Intervention or willingness and ability to become certified.
Experience:
2 or more years work experience as a Habilitation Technician with significant experience with MD/DD population.
Experience in vocational training or ability to become Qualified Professional strongly preferred.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
PAY:
$20.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
